Dr. Cassie S. Mitchell, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering and Center for Machine Learning at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Mitchell’s research is predictive medicine - the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science methods to identify causes, develop cures, and optimize patient care. Her literature-based discovery, generative AI, interpretable AI, and disease dynamics neurological research spans ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and sleep medicine. Mitchell received the American Neurological Association’s Derek Denny Brown Award, the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, and Chan Zuckerberg Diversity Leadership Award. Dr. Mitchell is Chair of the ANA Interactive Lunch Workshop Subcommittee.
