Description

Want some artful rest? These two sessions of Restorative Music employ principles of music neuroscience to induce a calm brain state. This music consists of long slow 1-minute meandering statements interspersed by silence. In a study of health care providers in the Chicago area, Clara Takarabe and Borna Bonakdarpour, MD, FANA from Northwestern University Music and Medicine Program demonstrated  that Music results in improvements in tension, energy, and feelings of capacity. This type of music has also been shown to increase alpha/beta density especially in midline prefrontal regions of the brain (Bonakdarpour et al., 2023).
