Dr. Aristea Galanopoulou is a Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She received her MD from the Medical School of Athens (Greece), PhD from McGill University (Canada) and Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology training from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her research identifies mechanisms, biomarkers, and treatments for epilepsies including infantile spasms and post-traumatic epilepsy. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Epilepsia Open. She received the ILAE Ambassador for Epilepsy Award (2015), the Saul R. Korey Award in Translational Science and Medicine (2017) and was the Lombroso lecturer at the 2023 American Epilepsy Society meeting.
