David Kartchner, PhD
Georgia Institute of Technology
Dr. David Kartchner is a research scientist affiliated with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and with Truveta. His work centers around the development of cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and datasets to provide up-to-date real-world clinical evidence to support clinical trials and translational research. This is done through AI algorithms that identify, extract, and synthesize unstructured clinical evidence into actionable insights for clinicians and medical researchers. David’s current projects use data mining to identify approved drugs that can aid in the treatment of difficult-to-treat cancers, including brain, gastric, and colorectal neoplasms. David has worked with multiple healthcare and pharmaceutical companies throughout his career to improve patient targeting and drug development. David received B.S. and M.S. degrees in applied and computational mathematics from BYU in 2016 and 2018. He received a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology in Computational Science and Engineering in 2023.
