Denis Balaban, MD, BS

Dr. Denis Balaban received his B.S. in biomedical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis and his M.D. at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed neurology residency at Mass General Brigham and fellowship in neuroimmunology and complex neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where is now an Instructor and member of the MGH Vasculitis Center. His research interests include neurosarcoidosis, vasculitis, and multiple sclerosis within neuroimmunology. He was selected as an Anne B. Young Translational Neuroscience Fellow where he gained clinical trial design and implementation experience in an industry setting at Biogen. He co-leads a large retrospective study in neurosarcoidosis myelitis and is investigating a new treatment for acute optic neuritis.
