Dr. Erica A. Schuyler, MD, FAAN, FANA obtained her medical degree at The Johns Hopkins University followed by neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at University of Michigan. She joined Hartford Hospital and the UConn faculty in 2009. She is currently the Associate Chief of Education at the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut. She has been Neurology Residency Director for 14 years, during which she has increased the size of her program from 12 to 28 residents and helped to start to start 5 new fellowship programs.As a leader in Medical Education, Dr. Schuyler has served in leadership roles nationally, including as a recent officer and Chair of the AAN Consortium of Neurology Program Directors. She has served on the AAN Graduate Education Subcommittee, the AUPN Program Director Liaison Committee, and is currently a member of the ACGME Neurology Review Committee. She is involved in national policy making and advocacy work regarding the fellowship application timeline, virtual recruitment guidelines, and the training and hiring of International physicians. Outside of work, she keeps busy with her two teenage sons and competing as an amateur ballroom dancer.
