Farinaz Safavi, MD, PhD

Dr. Farinaz Safavi is an Assistant Clinical Investigator and Chief of the Neuro-Immunopathogenesis Unit at NIAID/NIH, as well as an Adjunct Investigator with the NINDS. She obtained her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Science (TUMS) and her Ph.D. from the State University of New York (SUNY), followed by a neurology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Subsequently, she completed a clinical fellowship in neuroimmunology and neuroinfectious diseases at NINDS before joining NIAID to establish a new program focused on investigating the neurological manifestations of Inborn Errors of Immunity (IEIs).
