Jason Chua, MD, PhD
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
Dr. Jason Chua is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Johns Hopkins Division of Movement Disorders and the Johns Hopkins Institute for Cell Engineering. He received medical, graduate, residency, and fellowship training at the University of Michigan, and his combined clinical-research fellowship was supported by the NINDS R25. Dr. Chua’s primary research interests are in defining the essential molecular determinants of the autophagy pathway in neurons, and how these determinants contribute to or modify pathogenesis in neurodegeneration. His laboratory is pursuing these research goals in three specific disease contexts: Parkinson disease, Beta-propellor protein-associated neurodegeneration, and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Type 4B3.
