Maral Sakayan, MD

Dr. Maral Sakayan is a third-year resident physician in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine. She earned her MD from Wright State University, School of Medicine in Ohio. She holds a BS in Molecular Biology and a MS in Biology from University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests lie in social determinants of health and traumatic brain injury, aiming to understand how these interactions can lead to different outcomes including disability. Maral is applying to neurocritical care fellowships later this year with the goal of working in academia.
