Dr. Marinos C. Dalakas, MD is an endowed Professor of Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University and Chief of Neuroimmunology at University of Athens. Has served at the NIH/NINDS for 30 years, first as Senior Investigator in Neuroimmunology and Neurovirology and then as Chief of Neuromuscular Diseases Section. His research has been on Neuroimmunology, Neurovirology, and application of novel immunotherapies and credited for unraveling the immunopathologic and diagnostic criteria of inflammatory myopathies, autoimmune neuropathies, post-polio syndrome and stiff person syndrome and for the first application of IVIg in Neurology and its mechanisms of action. He has received numerous national and international Awards.
