Melissa Walker, MD, PhD

Dr. Melissa A .Walker is a physician-scientist and an Assistant Professor in Neurology at HMS and MGH where she is director of the Pediatric Mitochondrial Disorders clinic and a member of the NIH Harvard University Undiagnosed Disease Network site. She obtained her PhD in protein crystallography and MD at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons prior to residency training at MGH, where she joined the Mootha lab as a postdoctoral fellow. Her work on single cell sequencing and rare mitochondrial disease biomarker development has been supported by the Child Neurology Foundation, the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, and, most recently, an NIH/NINDS K08 award.
