Dr. Rana R. Said, M.D. FAAN is a Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She is the Child Neurology Residency program director since 2004. She has special interest in the fields of pediatric epilepsy, infantile spasms, electrical status epilepticus of sleep, cortical malformations, epilepsy surgery, status epilepticus, ketogenic diet, and medical education and the recruitment of students into the field of child neurology. After graduating from the University of Jordan, Faculty of Medicine, in Amman, Jordan, she completed pediatrics and child neurology residencies at Tufts University, Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, followed by an epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology fellowship and then an epilepsy research fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard University.
