Northwestern University

Dr. Scott Adney is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His current research involves understanding how biophysical changes underlying channelopathies converge to alter neuronal excitability and neuronal network function, producing a pro-epileptic state. By combining patient-derived stem cells and mouse models recapitulating human genetic variants, his goal is to understand how single gene changes can lead to epilepsy and how targeted therapeutics can lead to improved outcomes. He maintains an active clinic seeing adult patients with epilepsy as well as an adult epilepsy genetics diagnostic clinic.
