This is a panel session of the directors of the NINDS, NIA, DOD and the VA, providing information on resources available for research from the institutions, how to apply, and pearls to help new and experienced investigators navigate the funding systems.

Objectives

  • Describe opportunities for neuroscience and neurology research at the NINDS, NIA, and the VA.

  • Explain the infrastructure of the NIA, NINDS, and the VA as it pertains to neurology and neuroscience research.

  • Discuss the training and career development opportunities available for academic neurologists and neuroscientists at the NINDS, NIA, and the VA.

    Description

    A number of research funding opportunities for neurologists and neuroscientists exist at the VA. We have a robust career development program in order to attract and retain researchers to the VA. This presentation will cover opportunities, deadlines, and eligibility for our programs.

    Provide information about the NIA mission at advancing the field of on Aging and Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias research by funding opportunities for senior as well as junior investigators and trainees from diverse background toward accomplishing the goal of the National Plan to Address AD/ADRD. Will summarize programs of interest, resources, training and opportunities available for the ANA community.
