Alfred T. Frontera, MD, FANA

Dr. Alfred (Tom) Frontera completed his neurology residency and a 2-year fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Columbia University and is board-certified in adult neurology, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. He is currently Professor and Vice-Chairman of Neurology at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Frontera’s clinical time is focused on the diagnosis and medical/surgical treatment of epilepsy with a special interest in EEG monitoring in critically brain injured patients. Dr. Frontera is also deeply committed to education and served as the Co-Director of the Neurology Clerkship and the Associate Program Director of the Neurology Residency for 7 years prior to assuming the role of Residency Program Director in 2018. In these roles, he has helped to redesign and transform the clinical, didactic and simulation-based educational experiences in neurology for the USF medical students, residents and fellows who rotate through the Tampa VA and Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Frontera lives with his wife, 8-year-old daughter and Boston terrier in Tampa.
